Sunday Morning Reflection

We couldn't be happier that you found us online!   Well, yes we could.  We could be happier if you visited us in person! And this website is a good place to start toward your visit.  We really enjoy Sunday morning worship and being together.  We learn, we laugh,  and we love.  We gather as a community of Christians striving to put our faith into practice on a daily basis.  My sermons connect scripture to daily life experiences, using song lyrics, videos, news articles and whatever inspiration the Spirit gives me to communicate the dynamic relationship we have with God, Jesus Christ and each other.  This website will do a good job orienting you to our church, but it can't compare to  the orientation you'll get when you come through our doors on a Sunday morning!  I truly believe you will feel spiritually uplifted when the hour is through.  And you'll be happy that you found us online AND that you visited us in person!  If you're thinking about a wedding, a baptism, a memorial service, or some theological or spiritual conversation, you can connect with us by clicking the button below.

Here's What's Happening!

The Altar Area Was Blooming

On Easter Sunday

Our church altar area was bursting with real flowering plants and rustic touches thanks to the handiwork of our church member and florist Sherri Betcher.

Twenty Baby Chicks

Were In Church Easter Sunday

The chicks were only a few days old, all hatched in the five days before Easter.  Merrit Peterson, who is part of our Confirmation group, has a chicken egg business and she collected, incubated, and hatched the eggs specially for Easter Sunday.  Here Merrit is holding the first chick to hatch, named Shelly.

Each Of The Easter Chicks

Had A Name

On Easter Sunday we welcomed Shelly, Johanna, and Lightning McQueen (named after the character in the movie "Cars") to morning worship, along with 17 other chicks (all named) who offered their soft peeps as we celebrated the new life of the Risen Jesus Christ!  The sight of chicks brought back fond memories to several folks who had farm expereince in their childhoods.

Making life brighter

Sunday School

We have an awesome group of kids.  And the thing that brings them all together is God's love and the story of Jesus Christ.  All kids age 3 to grade 6 meet together for Sunday school about 10:25 a.m. on Sundays. Our teacher and helpers use the wonderful curriculum called "Deep Blue."  We invite every child to join us.

Thrift Shop

Since we opened our Pass It On Thrift Shop in 2005, our shop has donated over $150,000 to support local and regional organizations that serve others.  Stop by and shop, donate items, or volunteer!

Women's Group

Our women's group is fondly known as the Mayflower Guild.  As Congregationalists we trace our faith heritage to the Pilgrims who sailed to the New World on the ship Mayflower.  The word "guild" refers to a group of people in pursuit of a common goal.  Our women do some amazing work for the church.

Songs Of Hope

Each summer in mid-July we have 60-80 kids from around the world arrive at our church to put on a free evening concert of global music, rock and roll tunes, and traditional dances with ethnic clothing, all accompanied by a live band. The orgnanization responsible for this tour of peace and goodwill is "Sounds Of Hope" in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Music Ministry

Music is a big part of the life of our church and we consider it a ministry that uplifts, comforts, and inspires people. We have an adult choir that sings selections during most worship services, and our musical kids regularly provide mini-concerts on piano in worship.  We invite singers to try our choir.
